Yeah, I hear that.
Two guys got shot here recently.
One guy was on his way to his ATV after last legal light so he could go home, and he was shot from behind.
Apparently, someone hunting after last legal light thought they saw a deer and fired.
Once they ran up to see what they'd 'bagged', they ran off.
Whoever they are, they should turn themselves in.

Another guy got shot not just once but twice with a bolt action 7mm.
Once in the thigh, and once in the gut.
The ambulance got to him in time.
He's still in critical, but stable and will recover last I heard.

And it isn't the locals or those who have hunted all their lives doing the shooting, it's the wannabe hunters who spent lots of money on gear to impress people, and then go out and jack deer in someone's back yard that are doing the shooting.

I was driving down the road, and some idiot was taking pot shots at deer from right next to the road!
Wished I could "Zot" him for stupidity, would save him the trouble of doing something even more brain dead.
Of course, an industrial strength electric cattle prod probably wouldn't have fazed him much anyway.

I've watched the local hunters literally flee from the woods once the wannabes show up.

Mine are neighbors in the rural sense in that they are less than 1/2 mile away. If I can't pee off the front porch, it's time to move!

There ought to be on the FR front page a large, clearly readable radio button that says, NEWBIES, CLICK HERE. And when anyone clicks that button, your list would appear. If that seems to make sense, send the suggestion on to JimRob.

I've been around here for six years now, and there's information in your list that I don't know. Good stuff. Good work.

I was having babies about the time Elvis arrived on the scene and he never made a ripple in my house...I 'm old enough to remember Glenn Miller, the Andrews Sisters and all that WW2 music!

A thread that I started got pulled without explanation by a Jim Robinson.

I feel your pain.
The Jim Robinson guy has been a bane to this forum for far too long.

Mark Twain had the definitive comment on Wagner. He wrote, "Wagner's music is not as bad as it sounds."

I'm glad the shot hunters are going to be ok. That's terrible about that one dying.

The guy shooting from beside the road reminds me of people who lay on their horns as they come from behind you while riding a horse. Those nitwits actually wave at you like their doing you a favor by spooking your horse.

The world is filled with morons.

Sure and it doesn't bother me. I can give as well as take and actually enjoy a dust-up once in a while.

Okay, you asked for it. I have the best-ever worst album. Don't have a photo of the cover, but it is Mrs. Miller, whose "vibrato was set in concrete." She was an anti-star on Johnny Carson. Her rendition of "Yellow Submarine" is so indescribably awful that even thinking about it brings tears to my eyes.

Yeah, I had one guy pull a bunch of brush shots in my direction while I was hiking on a trail.
He kept screaming about 'the bear' that was going to rip his head off.

Yeah, there's a horse farm up the road from me.
The daughter will sometimes take the horses for small road excursions around the area.
(Very rural here.)
I will slow way down, and wait for it to be clear before trying to pass her.
Idiots here with their loud exhausts or pickup trucks will actually floor it while next to her.
Saw her horse jump and kick a few times.

Really ticked me off.

Of course, the polar opposite was "Doc".
Doc was a rather unique horse.
Addicted to apple flavored lollipops, he also chewed on wooden porch railings for fun and amusement.
Honking your car horn while driving slow behind him earned you horse butt sitting down like a dog on your hood.

I'm sorry. I laughed when I read that. And it's the HUNTERS stupidity that I was laughing at. That was a very serious situation you were in. You were very lucky he 'MISSED' the BEAR.

How can people pass the hunters course before they can actually hunt, be so stupid and careless?

When we see riders we let off the gas and coast by them. On the other side of the road.

A worse moment is yet to come. I'm about eight years away from going out with a granddaughter and she doesn't get carded. Talk about older'n dirt!
