More than one kind of black box (Keith Olbermann)
NEW YORK - Ive been avoiding this topic for four weeks now, but given what I understand are a lot of dropped jaws around the blogosphere, I think I better spill this.
I dont think Bev Harris of Black Box Voting is doing anybody any favors.
I suggested as much tonight on Countdown and there were a lot of understandably surprised emails. Some profane, incidentally, which had previously been the exclusive province of those who notified me of their opposition to anybody covering anything about voting irregularities or especially Jesse Jacksons F-Word.
Each and every day since our coverage of all this began on November 8, I have received a set of emails, some times a few, some times many, asking Why dont you have Bev Harris on Countdown?, Why dont you run the Bev Harris videotapes?, Why dont you show the voting tapes Bev Harris found discarded in the trash in Florida?
Because she wont let us.
I have not dealt with Ms. Harris directly, but my staff has, and though we have asked her on a regular basis to let us show these tapes on national television, she has declined.

I trolled at DU earlier today, and it's soooo great. They've divided into camps. One can't stand Bev and are happy with Olbermann. The other worship Bev and are hacked at Olbermann. It's so funny seeing them mad at each other and blaving us freepers and Karl Rove for making them angry at each other.
This is the election that just keeps on giving...
BevHarris is a darling at DU, but many are dumping her and now dislike her a great deal. It is becoming a general concencious over there that BevHarris has one and only one goal in mind with her BlackBoxVoting and that is to fill her bank account.
When will they realize this about Michael Moore? Or Jesse Jackson?
"She burst into LePores retirement ceremony, her cameraman rolling tape as she did so, and she raced to the podium to announce to the shocked room full of supervisors that she was serving LePore with papers as part of her lawsuits over what she claims are LePores evasions in providing records of the 2004 vote."
Well thats pathetic.

Last updated: Thursday Dec. 2, 2004 -- Black Box Voting demands retraction from Keith Olberman. We have given him the option to correct his factually flawed editorial by having Bev Harris come the on his show (contrary to his assertions, neither he nor his staff have EVER asked Harris to show anyone the Volusia County tapes. (One Olberman's producers did ask Harris to appear on the Countdown show, twice, both times BEFORE Harris came to Florida or uncovered Volusia County irregulaties. In both cases, after Harris had cleared her schedule to appear, right before the show, Olberman's producers canceled the appearance without explanation. Harris has always agreed to go on Olberman's show, and Olberman is the one who canceled, not Harris. The Volusia County tapes were showed to CNN cameramen, but Harris has never been asked to show any Volusia County materials to Olberman, MSNBC producers, NBC producers, CNBC producers, or anyone else with that TV network or its affiliates. Also contrary to Olberman's claims, Harris is not making a documentary, but the makers of the Votergate documentary, an independent team who captured the Volusia County trash incident on film, are eager to interview Keith Olberman on camera to ask him why he produced this report.

Last updated: Thursday Dec. 2, 2004 -- Black Box Voting requests retraction from Keith Olberman, along with an explanation of why MSNBC alleged such an untruth. We have given Olberman the opportunity to correct his factually flawed editorial by having Bev Harris appear on his show.
Contrary to Olberman's assertions, neither he nor his staff have EVER asked Harris to show anyone the Volusia County tapes. They have not asked Harris to come on the show since November 8. Harris did not come to Florida until November 12.
Olberman's producers had asked Harris to appear on the Countdown show twice, on Nov. 5 and Nov. 8. Each time, after Harris cleared her schedule to appear and shortly before the show, Olberman's producers canceled the appearance without explanation.
Harris showed the Volusia County tapes to CNN cameramen, but Harris has never been asked to show any Volusia County materials to any MSNBC producers, or NBC producers. The NBC local affiliate in Palm Beach County asked for the LePore videotape, which Harris promptly provided. The tapes, when showed without editing, show clearly that Olberman's report was not accurate about the LePore incident either. An edited version of the LePore tape was aired on both Orlando and Palm Beach County NBC affiliates last night.
Also contrary to Olberman's claims, Harris is not making a documentary, but the makers of the Votergate documentary, an independent team who captured the Volusia County trash incident on film, are eager to interview Keith Olberman on camera to ask him why he produced this report.
Bev Harris is a nut case.
BTW, I believe the DUmmie FUnnies was the first place that EXPOSED the con artistry of Bev Harris and her phony BBV scam.
Dennis---Did you hear that interview this morning?
How the hell does that con artist, Bev Harris, rate a non-profit status for her scam BBV organization? Hopefully the government will remove that status and then serve her an arrest warrant for fraud.
Steve Kane (Steve Kane Radio Show) interviewed Bev Harris and her assistant (Kathleen) this morning........
I heard the first five minutes then heard them again just after she had left in a huff it seemed.
Unethical, yes, but not a nut case. She's just a New Age Snake Oil salesmen like Michael Moore, Jesse Jackson, Ralph Nader and others.
The meltdown of the left has in its ashes a lot of despondent, depressed, angry, bitter, resentful people. These folks are vulnerable to anybody that will sell them a ray of hope.
Enter Dr. Feelgood.
Like the Snake Oil salesmen riding into town in the wake of a cholera epidemic, they offer to "cure what ails ya'". Step right up, folks, and get yer very own bottle of Dr. Feelgood's Cure-All. Only 50-cents a bottle. Get one for every member of the family and the dog, too.
And these vulnerable sad sacks will buy it, too. It's pitiful, really, to see it go on, but I think I'll get over it. I've waited and worked many years to see the left get what's due them, and that day has finally come.
I've always said that there was more to Michael Moore than just his rabid Anti-American schtick. There was a certain clownish circus atmosphere to what he did. As more and more con-artists like him come out of the woodwork Moore's motives become clear. He is, like I've always said, the consumate capitalist. He, like Jesse, Ralph, Bev and a host of others, is just in it for the money and the people they pretend to champion are merely marks.
And it couldn't happen to a nicer group of people.
Are his shows archives anywhere?
Unfortunately no archives. However, they should make an exception for that interview. It was the absolute BEST radio interview I ever heard.
I get such a huge laugh out of anybody being so far to the Left they think LePore is working for "The Man."
Bev Harris is nutty the way P.T. Barnum and D.B. Cooper were nutty!
