Organizers say the parade is about the holidays, not Christmas...

Ok... Someone want to explain what other holidays we're celebrating other than Christmas and Hanukkah during this time of year?

I would truly love the organizers to tell me, because I have no clue.

Festival of lights? We're celebrating lights?

Or are we going back to the Druid form of worship?

Exactly.

The "holiday" has a name.

The churches in the area should organize a little peaceful civil disobedience. At the end of the parade, hundreds of people could "spontaneously" walk the parade route singing Christmas carols.

Never happen. It's our own fault we've let the secularists win these issues. We're not fighting back, just taking it.

San Antonio is a very Christian city. When I lived there, not only did my neighborhood sponsor a yearly "living nativity" complete with a huge searchlight that lit up the night sky, but creches were everywhere to be seen in San Antonio. I think the reason that the ACLU hasn't attacked San Antonio's traditions is because its' population is mostly Hispanic.

If we can't celebrate "Christmas," I favor doing away with the national holiday on the 25th of December. Make everyone go to work on December 25th. I also favor doing away with the ability of non-believing rich merchants and amoral corporations to take advantage of Christians during December. Outlaw the playing of Christmas music on television, the radio or over public loudspeakers. Also, outlaw the transport and sale of living trees.

Make Christmas a quiet family remembrance of the birth of Christ as it is supposed to be. We can pull the shades over our windows so as to not offend our atheist neighbors.

ROFLOL! Apparently this Denver nitwit is unaware of the origins of the word "holiday." Ooops! Guess they'll change that, too. Happy Holidays! Winter Festival!

Glen Beck had a hilarious parody song on the air a few weeks ago in which all the winter holiday names were lumped together, but they bleeped out any mention of Christ or Christmas as if it were profanity. Actually, after laughing, I was kind of sad.

Excellent! I hope the liberal Democrat mayor is buried in charcoal by Christmas time. I'm sticking a few pieces in a jet pak and mailing it today, Michelle, since I don't want to invest more than that for this clueless Jesus-hater.
What Christians need to do in every one of these cities is organize a CHRISTIAN CHRISTMAS PARADE with every conservative church in the city involved and make it 100 times better than anything the pagans produce in honor of winter.

and every song was watered down so as not to offend the secularists.

^^^^^

One way for Christians to be vocal is to say "Your secularism offends me. You are forcing your anti-Christianity on me. You are restricting my right to freedom of speech."

Watch for the look of confusion on the face of the bigot, and smile!

I buy her books and read all her articles. Of course, the same goes for Ann Coulter.

It's sad that organizations such as the ones you describe (ACLU) have used their political clout to usurp people's rights rather than support them.

Whenever I read about organizations whose names directly contradict what they actually do, I think of Communism:

Pravda "Truth": (The propaganda machine of the old Soviet Union)
People's Liberation Army: (Used to suppress people rather than protect them)
Democratic People's Republic of Korea: (Nothing Democratic, Republic, or "People's" about it.)

Looks like we might add "American Civil Liberties Union" to the list.
