I'm still convinced no one voted for him because they liked him. I have a Democratic friend who told me that when he stepped in the booth to vote, he suddenly got a strong urge to vote for Bush. I mean come on. The Kerrys have absoloutly nothing in common with the middle class. They go into a Wendy's and don't know what anything on the menu is. What a joke. He will go down in history as worse off than Al Smith or Barry Goldwater, or even Mondale for that matter. He was a joke, is a joke and always will be a f***ing joke!!!!

I have been saying this for years. The reasons liberals have been beserk about Ashcroft since he left the Senate is that, about 5-6 years ago, he expressed a desire to be a Supreme Court Justice. Well, why not? He is a solid conservative and evangelical Christian and the libs know that the most cherished element of their party platform is abortion. So, they have been on a relentless campaign, for years, to destroy the man -- in effect, Bork him -- and thereby prevent even his nomination.

But our President is a fearless man, and I hope beyond all measure that he is nominated and seated on the court.

The hardcore dems have been knocking back on Prozac and Effexor and crying amongst themselves for a month now, but they're starting to crawl back out from under the duvet.

Lots of new "Hey don't be sad, Kerry will still be inaugurated in January" posts and claims of "proof" of election fraud, backed up by the imposing presence of the Rev'rund Jesse Jack*hmm*son and "forensic vote accountants".

But still, deep in their hearts (if they had any) they know that the fat lady has sung, and it's time to put on their beaver pelt hats and head north. I think this actual post shows the depth of their utter despair:

Well. All DUers have incurable, unfortunately nonfatal neurological disorders so get in line there, newbie Canucks.

Like many others who visited friends and family over Thanksgiving, I heard this from long-time friends who I visited, together with their immediate family. I gave the standard reasons why Bush is not an idiot and then agreed to disagree while reaching for another glass of white wine. Although friends of mine, all but one of the the eight adults were on the government dole, either as school teachers (active or retired) or working at a government lab in Idaho. They depend on the earnings of others to pay their salaries and are understandably (but wrongly) upset that more of the "rich" aren't paying their fair share of taxes under Bush and that he is allowing the ravishing of the environment.
