You have pretty much unrestricted euthanasia in the Netherlands

When they first legalized euthanasia in the Netherlands, they said it was only for those who specifically requested it. Then they started killing those who couldn’t ask for it themselves, calling it “mercy killing”. Next, they proposed lowering the age of euthanasia to 12 years old or even younger. Now, they just kill, then tell the government and expect the government to pass a law legalizing their actions.

and how long till that comes here.

In my 'guesstimate', about 10 more years and here's my theory. To date, 40+ million have been aborted, removing them from the tax rolls. As baby boomers, the generation that legalized abortion, move into retirement, they will increase demands on an overburdened Social Security System. Since those monies will be coming from abortion survivors, it seems only fair that they may very well turn the tables and legalize euthanasia. Somewhat of a poetic justice, don't you think?

Yes it is poetic justice.

Had an interesting discussion with my bride the other day. She can not understand why "reasonable" people can say that abortion is not wrong. I said that "reason" is only a construct for processing information according to a base set of standards.

The Nazi's in Germany and the Communists in Russia were so terrifying because they were so "reasonable". There beliefs systems held certain people to be no more than commodities. Reason without some short of moral framework can be a rather terrifying thing.
