Actually, there are blond and red-headed people in the ME.
Some live in Turkey. They have blonde hair and blue eyes. They look like Russians, but they are Turks. They may have originally been Slavic. I don't know. There are whole areas of these blond Turks.
Saddam's henchman, Al Douri, has red hair and blue eyes.
Some of these fair-haired people originally came from what is now Russia a long time ago. Many live in Jordan/Palestine. They often have red hair and blue eyes.
They are, I think Circassian. In the ME, they call them something like Sharkis. They were driven out of Russia, I think.
In Northern Iran people are very fair, too.
Syrians are fair and have some blondes.
Muslim people in Bosnia, etc are often blue-eyed and fair.
This writer doesn't know that many Muslims are fair-skinned and have light hair and eyes.
