I've been surprised that you are the first (and only, to my knowledge) person to mention 'charities' as a source of aid.

Thank you for your kind response.
I should also mention that my plastic surgeon did all of his work pro-bono (he had a thriving celebrity practice and was one of the top in his field) AND helped pay for my hospital bills, as did March of Dimes. He was a great man (he passed away about 10 years ago).
