The laws of physics prevent my jack russells from occupying the same space as a feline entity. Trust me on this one.

Cathouses and doghouses. Many have been in them both at one time or another.

They chose a kitten and began filling out the adoption paperwork

A lot of Utah seems to be run like the city councils were homeowners' associations. I don't know why. I am a transplant from the South, but I noticed this when I moved to Utah a couple of years ago.

The majority of the population of Utah is accustomed to and accepting of the LDS Church meddling in the details of their personal lives. And the majority of lawmakers are LDS Church members who are in the habit of meddling in their neighbors' daily lives as part of their church duties. Not that they regard it as "meddling", but most outsiders would. The result is a culture where this sort of thing is accepted without much questioning. Historically, the Church has functioned as a quasi-governmental body in Utah, and the legacy of that is all over Utah's laws.

There are good reasons behind seemingly senseless laws....I mean, what's next?

Maybe that is why they were having such a big argument over fluordation of water recently...

And what's wrong with 5, 6, or 7 animals running around if the owner takes care of them?

there's a law in Texas that forbids more than six women living in a house together. So you mean to tell me that the website www.texas-cheerleader-roomates.com is a hoax?

It is dangerous to let a cat and a mouse live in a house together Tom & Jerry, er Itchy & Scratchy can leave a house dangerously uninhabitable with their volly of bombs, saws, knife blades, anvils...

As anyone who watches Conan O'Brien will tell you:
"Llama, goat, giraffe... good."
"Llama, tiger, jackal... bad!"
It's all about knowing how animals relate.
