I wish that instead of leaving the church, folks would stay inside and raise hell.

I grew up in the Methodist Church and I will not let some left wing loonies drive me out of my church. I choose to stay and fight.

I understand what you're saying. I just don't know if it would do any good.

We hired an associate Pastor about 2 years ago. His first sermon was in the "Old Meeting House" ca. 1775-1777, to a large assembly of town's people. He was from the south and his accent showed. His sermon was all about how rich we are in NH compared to the rest of the states and how well off we are in this town. He spoke of all the less fortunate and how we should stop voting conservative and be more progressive and demand that taxes be raised to pay for all sorts of social programs. People started filing out before he was finished and I and others clued him in on why we are rich and it wasn't because we were over taxed. I told him what precisely separates us from all the lesser is our commitment to a low tax structure. This is what makes us strong and prosperous. Since then his sermons have been largely of material found in the scriptures.
