Christmas Vacation bump. You can have an uplifting story in a cynical age. Parts of it are pretty crude, but then so was Animal House. The story holds up.

I agree with
Christmas Vacation. My family watches it every year. The character played by Chevy Chase in this movie is very much like me in real life. And I almost fell off the ladder last weekend hanging lights!
But the article is mostly correct. Other than this movie, Christmas Story and maybe A Santa Claus, there hasn't been a decent Christmas movie released in decades.
