I'll never complain about "Fear Factor" or "The Simple Life" again.
In other news, Britain has a a happy pig.

In one of their more delicate rulings of recent years, British television watchdogs ruled that a pig sexually pleasured on television by a minor celebrity did not feel degraded by the experience

Reality TV is the new carny freakshow. And the geeks can tell you, the real depravity is on the outside looking in....

Probably an uplifting experience for her, guessing at past behavior.

I suppose it's something that has to be done by farm professionals once in a while. However, the reason it was shown on TV was for a sick and disgusting reason. There's a big difference there that people are "afraid" to point out because of so-called censorship issues. Big whoop. Let's censor this tripe and start looking at a better society.

A sign of things to come on American TV.

Yep. I dated a lady vet for a couple years. She described the process they used for getting semen from either bulls or horses (forget which). Basically goosing the critter with a low yeild cattle prod.
Suddenly, stud service just doesn't sound that enjoyable. Know what I mean?

In other news, Britain has a a happy pig. In a subsequent development it turns out that said pig has turned somewhat sadder. When asked for a comment, the pig responded "She never calls, she never writes, I haven't seen her since the show. I'm starting to feel like the whole thing was an act".

Pig not degraded by televised sexual experience.... Well, Moanica's gotta make a few bucks somehow. She can't sponge off her millionaire parents, and her billionaire stepfather, forever, can she?
Hey, maybe they got her recommended her for the TV job---like they did when she got the WH job. They got lots of contacts.

The Daily Show did this years ago. Back when Kilborn was host, I think.

I'm not the first one to call for "censorship," but of all the things I've seen on TV I think Fear Factor comes closest to deserving some real scrutiny. Eating live slugs on TV? What redeeming social value does this have? And it's kinda cruel to the slugs, no? (I'm not going to get all lathered up about a slug, but I just can't understand the WHY of it all). I only saw it once or twice, and I have never seen Simple Life. I really don't watch much "network TV" at all.
But there's a market for this, I suppose. Same could have been said of the shows at the Roman Colosseum.
And yes, I'm sure that this will find its way here also. It has a legitimate purpose, but it was not put on TV for that reason.
Any word on whether the Massachusetts supreme court is going to require the state to grant marriage licenses to the woman and pig?
