I would hope Steele can do better than wrapping up the Eastern Sho'. I could carry that "sh$thouse" Eastern Sho!
To win the Senate, Steele would have to deliver PG county (where he lives) and make a serious dent in Montgomery and Baltimore Counties. He is one impressive guy! I hope this will happen.

In 2002, Bob Ehrlich won the governorship by a rather comfortable 3.87% margin even though he got below 23% in PG County and only 38% in Montco. Michael Steele would not need to do much better in those counties to win statewide, although he would be hardpressed to match Baltco native Ehrlich's 61% in Baltco.
My point about the Eastern Shore was not that Steele would be needed for the GOP to carry the region, but that the fact that Steele is more socially conservative than Ehrlich would help boost conservative turnout there, which would give the GOP candidates a larger vote margin in the region.
