An aggravating and annoying thing about the guy is that when his behavior offends, you don't know whether it's his innate jackassery bubbling up, or his concern for what leftwing jackasses he cares about think. IOW, it's now, after his behavior during 2004. difficult to believe that he "believes what he says" on his show.
I certainly never thought it was possible - but O'Reilly's treatment of the SBV's made me put Greta second on my list of watchable FoxNews shows behind Hannity and Colmes....can't hardly watch The Factor anymore without seething !!
He treated the SBV's and their effort to notify the American people about the real person JFK was, and for that he went out of his way to accuse these honorable men as political hacks. Then he refused to label the Rather lies for what they were, and says Rather is an honest man....just as Rather said on O'Reilly that Bill Clinton was an honest person !! Give me a break !
I agree, his private affairs are his private affairs, but as earlier poster commented, that experience has altered his judgement.
The answer is that you can't know for sure that he deeply believes anything that he says. He has unmasked himself for all to see. Ergo, he's another phony media type with his own unique...........dare I say the word?.......SPIN MACHINE!
He SPUN the swiftboat vets clear outta the water. Now, in this Boston Herald piece, he has SPUN the Rather story to make it appear that he and ole Dan are just two media giants who were "smeared" because of how icon-ish they are. He's lost my respect completely, and it all began when he dismissed the vets as guys with a gripe and an agenda who were telling untruths, or "unsubstantiated stories" about poor struggling candidate Kerry.
