Don't any of you Vitamin C advocates have trouble with mouth sores? I used to take Vitamin C occasionally and the resulting mouth ulcers were horrible! I wasn't taking anywhere near the doses reccommended here. I think it was 400-600 MGs.

Any suggestions?

I'm afraid I can't help on that one lady. I've never heard of that happening. I have heard some people say they are allergic to C. Have you tried the timed release kind? I'm also wondering if what you took was plain Vit.C which is just Ascorbic Acid and is not helpful. Vit C must have essential rutins and hesperidins with it in order to work. The way to get those is to make sure the bottle says Vit. C with Rose Hips. Ascorbic Acid is more likely to react and the body can't handle it as well. I would think also that lots of liquids would help keep the vitamin moving swiftly through the body. It may be that you are just one of those people who is allergic. In that case you might use the Zinc and Echinacia for colds.

I just swallow mine--do you chew yours or take it in lozenge form? That could account for the sores . . . some people get mouth sores along with their colds; could that be it?
