Maybe not today, but can you guarentee that in 5 years? History says obviously you can't. Now they don't have to worry about fighting France or Poland either.
They could gear up quickly. VWs one day panzers the next. When everybody emerges from their clean, neat cottages one day and forms lines in the streets, they could march off in any direction.
