remove the San Jose MercuryNews cookie. Then you can read the link to this article without registering. This trick works for many newspapers.

Your first look at San Jose Mercury News is allowed but when you look again they try to force you to register.

Shouldn't it also work to add the SJ Mercury to your blocked cookie list? That way you won't have to remove it manually after each article.

You can try that but it didn't work for me. If you block the SJM cookie if forces you to register.
