There is nothing wrong with re-using stuff from dumpsters. A tremendous amount of good food gets thrown out. I have two pigs in my freezer right now, that were raised exclusively on bread and pastries scavenged from dumpsters.

As for non-food items, it is no more disgusting than getting things from a yard sale.
