My purpose for posting this was to show the contrast between people of goodwill and the dark, downcast left. They call us haters, but look at the character of the replies so far in this thread. How do they compare with the DU posts? Who harbors hate? That's why.......

I think that there should be a best of DU posted here everyday. After a long day of work, doing chores with the kids, cooking, bathing, etc, I need a good laugh. There is! PJ-Comix posts the DUmmie FUnnies daily. Laugh along with the rest of us by asking PJ to put you on his ping list.

When you have no moral base, I guess politics becomes your religion. This statement deserves repeating. If we understand this then we will understand why they get so upset when ever you disagree with them.

we do our dancing in our half the house ,never in front of! that would not be gracious. it was peacful at dinner this year. our inlaws are not noted for being gracious and have spent a decade making hubby and I out to be smallminded bigots and other things because we go to church and vote republican.but this election really socked the wind out of them. they said to me that hubby and i were the ONLY people they knew of that voted for that blankity blank evil man. they never did figure out that they themselves were the only people we knew who were going to vote for kerry!!?
My poor InLaws thought my whole family was democrat but me!!!
but yes we were gracious winners and havnt said too much at all to them about the election.

You sound like you're having way, way too much fun. :-)
It has to be excruciating for your relatives that you refrain from saying anything. You may find some time soon that they bring up the election with you just because they can't stand any longer to wait for the other shoe to drop!
Part of me feels bad for folks like this. Part.....

Woe to those who call evil good and good evil. That's all I can say. Why would I want to be friends or family with those who don't care if my kids are drafted or if I've lost my job or if our Constitution is only a dim, sacred memory? Why would I want my children around them? I have a strong feeling that lightning is gonna strike some of these folks. Too much negative, toxic karma surrounds the greedy Repukes
This from a man/woman whose Party supports murdering children after they are viable outside the womb ?
Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

...none of them know much at all about any fraud issues since the news blackout. Huh? They think that the lack of viable news about the Ohio recount is because the Administration has put the kaibosh on the media? Or do they think that the nasty Right biased media is not reporting on it to cover GWB's butt?
Either way, they are dilusional.

I read a thread a while ago on FR on how to deal with liberal family members for the holidays. Basically, consensus was to do your best to get along, because family was more important than anything else.
I read a thread a few weeks ago on DU about the same subject. Without hardly any dissension, the consensus was that their Republican family members were dead to them, they hated them and they never wanted to see them again.
I thought it a very interesting contrast. My sister is a liberal (koolaid Michael Moore socialism is wonderful Bush is Hitler liberal) and we do NOT discuss politics at the table. I wish it was otherwise but there it is.

You sound like you're having way, way too much fun. HMMMMMM maybeee iam!
But my motherinlaw has really put me through a lot of grief since 93.the good thing out of all of it, I married her son brought him from the dark side to the truth of Christ and conservatism, much to her dismay.they are true card carrying socialists and its been interesting to say the least.my DH siblings tell me that I'm the only one to ever go toe to toe with her politically and have her back down. thats why we wont hear a word from her about this election I believe.

I've tried, but I can't think of one. I see liberal, talking head pundits on TV pretending to be happy, but it's pretty clear that they're not. Maybe it's a disease.

It is very sad that these people would ignore their family simply because they do not agree with their political, social, or philosophical ideals. They are turning away from family, away from church, away from God.
They are so caught up in their political crusade that they completely ignore the most important aspects of life. These people should not be embraced, but driven from society until they make an attempt to think, reason, and have a calm discussion about issues without bringing up some crackpot conspiracy theory.
