London 29.11.04 | Sources report that this morning at around 6.30AM, 25 police officers raided in Caracas the Jewish school known as Colegio Hebraica. Students were meant to start classes at 7AM. Due to the 'procedure' that still goes on, classes have been suspended. The school is attended by 1.500 youngsters and children.
Criminal-turned-judge Maikel Moreno gave the order to raid the premises. Daniel Sinmack, president of the Jewish community in Caracas, just declared that this is the first time ever that such incident occurs
Allegedly the State television network, Venezolana de Television, has been reporting for days now that the Mossad is behind the assassination of prosecutor Danilo Anderson.

Carter said during the 1980 campaign IIRC that he would "screw the Jews" (for some imagined betrayal, I think).

I posted a link to the mainstream Venezuelan press. It's too fresh of news for Reuters to notice yet. But it's all over the local Venezuelan press now.

Thanks. The evidence was planted on that first guy they shot in the streets. They can certainly plant more evidence if they like, they are quite practiced at it these days.

Carter has done his best to legitimize Chavez's government by stating in the international press that his recent "election" was a fair and honest event. This is apparently pretty far from the truth. Carter likes socialist leaders, even those with totalitarian ways, it seems.

Re references to Jimmy Carter. He legitimized the recent "election" of Hugo Chavez even though there was widespread evidence of vote fraud. He stated almost immediately that the election was legitimate and he spoke as head of a commission of external election observers and with election monitors excluded from polls and election tally documents.

Early 1980:
at a March 1980 meeting with his senior political advisers, angrily snapped,
"If I get back in, I`m going to f--- the Jews." Jimmy Carter, March 1980
Late 1980: Cyrus Vance
confirmed to then-New York mayor Ed Koch that Carter, if reelected, would "sell out" the Jews
Jimmy Carter shortly before the 1980 election
2003:
had I been elected to a second term, with the prestige and authority and influence and reputation I had in the region, we could have moved to a final solution
Jimmy Carter, 12-1-2003

Be careful of your source, it's Chavez's own media you are citing.

The officers behaved correctly. They searched the offices but they didn't enter the classrooms.
We are sure they couldn't find anything, since we are not implied in any criminal act.
"De igual modo Slimak aseguró que los funcionarios mantuvieron un comportamiento educado y no arremetieron contra las instalaciones de la institución. Baños, oficinas administrativas, fueron revisados pero no entraron a las aulas de clases. Estamos seguros que no conseguirán nada, porque no estamos implicados en ningún asunto delictivo."

These news are partly false - see what the president of the school is saying http://www.vtv.gov.ve/Actualidades.php?IdNoticia=67 That's a Venezuelan government website, you might as well have gone to the Pravda website, if there had been one, to find out about the health of Brezhnev or Kosygin.

It seems to me the question isn't the conduct of the police, rather the judge. But who knows, maybe the Mossad did do it.
One thing we know about the Chavez justice system, murder is no bar to the judiciary, the judge has been convicted twice.

Thanks. That judge Maikel is an ex murderer who through political connections got his judicial appointment. The photograph speaks for itself.

The kids reportedly were scared anyway. That's not the biggest issue by the way. The fact is, Chavez is in Iran cavorting with the ayatollahs and now he's charging 'the Jews' with car-bombings.

in 2001 approximately 70 percent of the population were Roman Catholic, approximately 29 percent were Protestant, and the remaining 1 percent practiced other religions or were atheists. There are small but influential Muslim and Jewish communities. The capital city of Caracas has a large mosque, and the country's Jewish community is very active. http://atheism.about.com/library/irf/irf03/blirf_venezuela.htm
Above combined with Venezuelas membership in OPEC would indicate strong muslim influence in the government. Now I am not much for conspiracy theory, however, I would bet that alqueda(sp) is involved and we will feel the inpact here in the US of A.

1500 students is a pretty big school. Must be an important institution...agitprop terrorist gesture.
Does anyone have numbers for how many Jews there are in Venezuela, and how many Muslims? Wonder what critical mass we are looking at.

Thanks.
Chavez is an authentic Axis-of-Evil wannabe. He's got Carlos the Jackal's brother on his payroll, somewhere in his cabinet, and has written letters to the jailed terrorist encouraging him. He's hanging out with those who wish us ill, like Iran. Saudi Arabia laughs at him for his stupidity on oil, and that's kept him away from them. But not their enemies. The main enemy of the Saudi regime of course is alqaida.
