Here in Mobile we lost a local citizen over the holidays. I can not imagine spending my Thanksgiving like this. I did not know this man, nor did he know me. As with a little over 1000 others, He was willing to take the fight to the enemy so my family could be free, and it cost him his life.
My family appreciates the sacrifice he and his family have made.
Hopefully the post is appropriate - I just wanted folks to know who he was.

With tears in my eyes I think of my brother over there now. He has been over and back numerous times and while not in combat he is serving his country in harm's way. I heard my Dad on the phone this weekend saying goodbye, again. This young man is a fine example of our youth and his family and community should be proud.

Thank you for introducing him to us.

Thanks you for posting this story.....it breaks my heart every time I read one of these. I'm so proud of all our young heroes like this one. God has/had a plan for each one though we will never know the full scope of it. I feel for his mother though, and I can't imagine what it's like for her. God bless and comfort her.

Thank you for the kind words. LG's brother (my BIL - LG is my husband) is recently retired military, still works at Centcom and heads over there frequently. We'll be holding our breath for the next few weeks. :)

My heart (and prayers) go out to your brother and all those who are away from home. May our brave soldiers and all those working with them continue to stay strong and safe.
