The Reverend David Oberts has been a very busy priest the past few days. He'd rather have been deerhunting himself.

This whole article is absurd.

The Seattle Times depicts the dead as "White Hunters" and the shooter as the Asian killer. They do the pitting of communities against each other, not the people here in Wisconsin. We don't blame an ethnic community for what has happened. We blame the shooter.

I live in Central Wisconsin has opened its arms to the H'mong population, and to infer to it as something that incites violence against this group is absurd.

There is no reason for this kind of yellow journalism, and I know that most who live here in Wisconsin would find this article offensive, and condescending.

It is a condescending article, the big city folks lecturing to those idiot Midwesterners.

I don't condemn the Hmong community for the murderous actions of one person. It'd be like blaming the Irish for the actions of Timothy McVeigh.

I live in Central Wisconsin and it has opened its arms to the H'mong population. To infer to that the clash of cultures will continue to incite violence is absurd.

That's better.... Need some coffee.

They've been making victims, atangonzing groups, and reaping the benefits for so long it must be their only purpose for existence. Disseminating "news" is just a sideline, front for what they're really about.

I'll bet the Hmongs would carry out a more severe punishment on him than the state of WI if they could.

I live in Wisconsin--Green Bay--which has a fairly large Hmong community. I have Hmong neighbors now and had Hmong neighbors in my old neighborhood.

The worst thing a Hmong can do is bring shame on his family (and clan), and someone who brings shame on his family is oscracized, shunned. My neighbors are just as shocked, baffled and confused by this mass murder as the community in Rice Lake.

Just remember that a lot of this spin is coming from his lawyers and dimwit big city reporters, trying to stir a racist pot that doesn't exist--or if it does, it's coming from those who already are racists.

I heard the guys family on the radio talking about what a great family man he was. This whole thing is being used by the anti-gunners to slam gun owners. As usual.

That was his daughter at a press conference held by his lawyers. She didn't take any questions, no doubt because she and the lawyers didn't want to talk about his history of domestic abuse.
