We're the party of the pursuit of happiness. Pete Du Pont lays out the reasons why voting GOP makes you happier. Indeed, as we Americans are by nature and character fundamentally a happy people.

I voted for this guy when he ran for president. When was that? After reading this, I'd vote for him again. It's unfortunate that he probably couldn't win a senate seat in Delaware.

Are Democrats so thick that they can not see that what they propose is socialism? Or are they simple evil?
Socialism, Communism and Facism only differ in the details of the ownership rules. They all allow strong centralized buracracies to control details of people lives that no part of the government should even be permitted to have knowledge.

Liberals are the most miserable people I know. It's all doom and gloom...
To: goldstategop
Blue-collar Americans believe liberals are anti-Christian and seek to suppress all public expression of religious beliefs, including school prayer. That they are amoral--or, as Irving Kristol once said, a liberal is someone who thinks it is all right for an 18-year-old girl to perform in a porn film so long as she is paid the minimum wage. Gee, this guy must have been reading the DUmmie board, he is spot on with his assessment~!

Conversely, the Democratic Party is the party of centralization, believing that a wise and benevolent, best-and-brightest, urban blue-county government can make better choices than those of rural, red-county Americans. This is not a new belief; it is the legacy of the 1930s (the New Deal) and the '60s (the Great Society). It was fully reflected in John Kerry's campaign: Taxes must rise and government must grow; trade must be regulated and limited; the 1935 Social Security system is perfect and nothing about it may be changed. These sentiments sound like ideals from some FReepers I converse with.
