The article speaks for itself.
The people ignoring things are the same half dozen or less individuals on FR who manage to show up on every Ukrainian election thread to whine about Soros and nay-say the reform movement.

What they're ignoring (and would like others to also) is the well established fact that - ego-driven Soros not withstanding and far more importantly - Yushchenko and the reformers have the support of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and virtually all of the worldwide Ukrainian expatriate community.

One wonders what's the real motivation driving these people?
A love for pro-Russian thugs and gangsters or a hatred towards Ukrainians and - just maybe - The Catholic Church?

Perhaps the welfare of the Ukrainian people, because some of us may have a better understanding of the situation.

Do you think it's reasonable and it's a demonstration of wanting a fair outcome for Yushchenko to make demands that Kuchma fire Yanukovych, and basically threaten Kuchma, if he doesn't?

Both the United States and the European Union have declared the election illegitimate. International monitoring groups, as well as Lugar, who was President Bush's envoy to monitor the elections, said the balloting was "a concerted and forceful program of election-day fraud and abuse."

Secretary of State Colin Powell said Tuesday the United States could not recognize the results unless the allegations of fraud were thoroughly investigated. Canada and several other countries followed.

Good question. We'll probably never know.

What we do know is that they have no regard for liberty, for the position of the Bush administration, or for the aspirations of the Ukrainian people.
