He is concerned because he is elderly, and lives on the outskirts of a heavily Muslim-infested city.
Riots, by their very nature, tend to be rather indescriminate in their fury.

I love the fact that shortwave / amateur radio communications are supplementing web communications.

I never was much one for "unwritten rules". They were mostly established by self-appointed traffic cops in the first place. Also, that "unwritten rule" was American in scope, rather than international.
As for morse code; what in the heck is THAT? /sarcasm

I wonder if there are other ham radio freepers who might be willing to post direct on-the-scene foreign reports? It is prohibited by federal regulation.
47CFR97.117: International communications. Transmissions to a different country, where permitted, shall be made in plain language and shall be limited to messages of a technical nature relating to tests, and, to remarks of a personal character for which, by reason of their unimportance, recourse to the public telecommunications service is not justified.

This is an extremely important post, not just for its fascinating content. This post represnts the first direct Internet reporting (that I have seen) using ham radio transmissions. The corrupt MSM, the legacy media, just had another nail driven into into its coffin.

The implications of your post boggle my mind...all I can say is YES!!!! NOW!!!

There is a Ham Radio pinglist; I'll try to find whoever maintains it.
Ham Radio has always been a person-to-person communications medium; usually unrestricted except by the most oppressive governments.
As to posting the content of conversations, that would likely be up to the parties in communication.

So much for the Amateur Radio gentlemen's agreement, or unwritten rule to not discuss religion or politics on the air. It is most definately a written rule if it involves international communication. See my post quoting Part 97 paragraph 117.

I remember during the Clinton Era, we had the "Liberty Net" That net didn't violate Part 97.117 as it was internal to the United States.
