No...Gonzalez did not use a Michigan diversity "mandate" (whatever that is). In fact, that is my point. He used the judge made concept of diversity, not law (either Michigan law or federal law) as the basis for his support of diversity in admissions. You better stop digging while you're ahead because you're contradicting yourself all over the place.
