If anyone has some major rehabilitation work to do in the new year, it is Teresa Heinz Kerry. As the Kerrys head for their swank vacation home this year without the press corps tallying how much it cost, or the Secret Service following too closely on the slopes, the might-have-been first lady and still extremely major philanthropist has some major thinking to do about the damage she did to her own reputation in the major run that just ended.

As you wish. She's standing in a forest and wondering where the trees are. I didn't vote for Kerry because he would have made one of the absolute worst presidents in US history, not because his wife is a classless shrew.
A classic limousine liberal.
That's a mental image I didn't need ...
Has anyone ever noticed that when Susan is a guest on Fox News she looks like her simple, unadorned self, yet when she is a host, (subs for Alan Colmes or Greta), Fox does a real makeup number on her: she wears an elegant red suit, her hair is done in a glamourous updo, and she wears enough lip gloss to have its own area code. I almost don't recognize her. To me, she cleans up nice. It does say something about how FNC wants their female reporters to look, like the newsbreak readers. They must buy lip gloss by the gallon.
Glad to see you say "one of the worst" reserving the "absolutely worst" slot for Hillary.
I'm going to be a contrarian here, and say that he will indeed make another go of it.
And as you all know, my predictions have never led you astray.
(Refers to my impeccable prognostication of Nader's superb performance in the state of Michigan, Bill McCollum's successful run for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by former Sen. Graham and my accurate assessment of Team USA, which snatched the gold medal in basketball at the most recent Athenian Olympiad.)
Perhaps Tuh-ray-zuh should consider the Betty Ford clinic.
"Susan Estrich on Teresa Heinz Kerry"
Almost lost my lunch on that one.

Ms. Estrich almost got it right. Mrs. Heinz-Kerry-Whatever doesn't give two hoots-in-a-holler what anyone thinks of her. She's one of the super-rich. In her mind we little people don't have meaningful opinions.
And that includes Ms. Estrich.
I agree. I would say she is passive/aggressive except so often she was just so outright angry. I think she felt "put upon" that she actually had to campaign as in "Don't you know who I am?!"
She pretty much does what she wants...and it really came across that she isn't "in love" with Kerry. What a contrast with the Bush's or the Cheney's!
How quickly they eat their own......
Or rather, the gorging continues.
What hypocrisy.
In hindsight I'm glad THK made the Eva Peron type speech.
She let us know exactly the kind of Worst Lady we'd get.
Even the libs over at DU call her a "skank."
"That's a mental image I didn't need ..."
Beat me to it.
Maybe, but how many fencesitters caught Mama T.'s act and contrasted it with Laura Bush's conduct? How many women decided that the best thing for them to do on Election Day was to vote for the housewife/mother of twins/teacher/librarian who never worked a day in her life, according to TH-K?
Terry was so breathtakingly appalling in public that it actually made me wince...
Ms. Estrich is correct. Apparently Teresa felt that the campaign had been bought and paid for, and that everyone on the Dem side respected that purchase.
My (admittedly catty) prediction is that the Kerrys may be sleeping in separate mansions by this time next year.
Why do they get secret service protection at all? I would have thought when the campaign ended they wouldn't need it. If they need personal security then they ought to pay for it on their own.
Me too
