I say now and I will continue to say that the Catholic community can't allow this to continue. Its not right and it needs to be fixed. No whitewash, no excuses, just fix it.
Priests that have displayed that behavior have to go. No ifs, ands, or buts. It's a sickness that can't be cured and the Priests have to be removed or excommunicated, or whatever it takes.
I will say that I, as well as every other boy my age in my neighborhood were altar boys and we talked to our Priest constantly as we were growing up. We were in his presence without other adults many times and he never was anything but a great man. Never was anything even hinted about or questioned. He was just a great man and a great human being. Thats what I remember. But I can still see, and I don't deny that there may have been Priests that were not like ours.
If Mr. Corsi was saying something bad about Catholics, even in jest, I'm sure it was justified and I wouldn't hold that against him at all.
At least with Cathlocism you can say something derogatory and not have a fatah called, such as the Muslims and what they did to Mr. Theodore Van Gogh.
Most Catholics don't want to hear some Christian from some other denomination take the Church to task using intemperate language. They really don't want to hear a Catholic do that either, but in Mr. Corsi's case he was attacking a specific area of the present day Church that everyone was just sick about. And many Catholics were thinking exactly what he was saying, just not the way he was saying it. Besides all that, he did apologize.
I would definitely contribute to his campaign, I only hope he's pro-life. Based on his profile, I think he can win. But I'd like to know what he looks like. Not that it would matter to me, but I'd be better able to predict his chances, because unfortunately, looks matter to the electorate at large. Oh well, if he's Italian, chances are good, right?
Anyway, I hope he runs, runs ably and wins.
