Perhaps your up-and-coming prince-and-one-day-king has it in his mind to re-assert the strength of the monarchy, thus replacing a million petty, authoritarian self-annointed 'royals' with only one? Any indications as to the young man's mind on this? He could do it with the support of the British subjects, no? Hasn't this occurred at least once before in your history? Seems like the time is getting ripe.

Dunno, don't much care either to be honest.

The Royal family have no power now and probably less freedoms than their average "subject". The Queen is just a token head of state, a face to put on bank notes and postage stamps.

I think that having a King or Queen though does have certain benefits (in our society at least). It gives (some) people a focus point to rally around & it brings in plently of foreign cash by means of tourism.
