Hah!

Come to Port Saint Lucie and I will show you around South Florida; thousands of pot smoking, non working stoner gays, none of whom are more wealthy than I

Not to say for one second that there are no such straights, but if you are asserting that gays re better educated and wealthier than most straights, then I do not agree.

Sorry, don't believe it for one second.

As was pointed out in another reply, they have no familial responsibilities nor do they even have to plan for such.

Yes, on the average, homosexuals are wealthier and better educated than heterosexuals. It doesn't mean every homosexual is wealthy or well educated than the average heterosexual, nor does it mean that every heterosexual is less wealthy and less well-educated than the average homosexual.

In my community, the homosexuals definitely go to school longer and have more money, because most of them don't have children.

""Gay individual income is more than 300% greater than average Americans' -- and an enormous 1,200% greater than disadvantaged African Americans.

A few stats:

More than three times as many gays as average Americans are college graduates (59.6% vs. 18.0%; gays average 15.7 years' education vs. 12.7 for average Americans) -- dwarfing achievements of truly disadvantaged African-Americans and Hispanics. More than three times as many gays as average Americans hold professional or managerial positions (49.0% vs. 15.9%) -- making gays embarrassingly more advantaged than true minorities in the job market...Gays households are four times as likely as average Americans to be earning in excess of $100,000 annually...While 32.8% of African Americans live below the poverty line ($8,343 for 2-person households under age 65 [Statistical Abstract of the United States, 1990]), 62% of gay households earn more than the average American household, and more than 95% of gay households live above the poverty line""

The point that the Town Hall article is making is that homosexuals are not and never have been an oppressed minority the way blacks were at one time. Even today, homosexuals are doing far, far better than blacks (although the situation is improving for the latter).

Why would homosexuals need special scholarships, when they're already better educated than most people (again, on the average)? That's the point the article is making.

You need to come to portland Maine and see what wealth does to homosexuality....over engineered and over decorated houses...and a little museum every ten feet.

The wealth thing has been figured out (no kids, two incomes) but here's the educated part. Since leftists and homosexuals far outweigh normal conservatives among the academic elite, and college courses are heavily larded with total leftist homo-promoting crap, it's natural that universtities will churn out a larger number of homosexuals than, say, your local community college welding apprenticeship and sheet metal workers programs.
