Great page, thanks - and it caused me to think. Like many here, these were my heroes as a child also (you can also add Davey Crocket and Daniel Boone) and watching the weekly television shows about these men I believe did indeed help instill character and core values in the children that watched them. Think about it, today there are no "television heroes", at least that represent real people and not cartoon characters (teenage mutant ninja turtles, power rangers) or overgrown puppets (barney, really hate him) - of course now with PC kids today could not even emulate these TV heroes of our past because cap pistols are outlawed and children can be banned from school for possessing a toy gun - pretty sad state of affairs. Personally, I think it's time for kids to be playing "cowboys and muslims"

Yep, and the underlying message ALWAYS was: there IS a DEFINITE right vs. wrong, and there ARE DEFINITE good guys vs. bad guys. This, of course, is the opposite of the moral relativism the LIEberals and MULEticulturalists are preaching today and infusing the teachers' unions -- and government schools -- with.
