Bush won; no more wishful thinking
I am tired of hearing from many on the Democrat side who say, "Except for 136,000 votes in Ohio, Kerry would be our next president." Indeed, if Kerry had gotten 136,484 more votes in Ohio, he would have received the state's 20 electoral votes and won 272 to Bush's 266. Yet if that analysis is valid, we can also say that if President Bush had received 128,870 more votes in Pennsylvania, he would have increased his electoral margin by 21 and won by 307 to 231. In addition to this, if Bush had got another 11,814 votes in Wisconsin, he would have gained another 10 to win 317 to 231 which is clearly a dominating margin by any standard.
My point is that we can always look back and find ways to tweak numbers here and there to discover a different result, but that amounts to simply wishful thinking. With claims that the Ohio results were not valid because of voter fraud, uncounted votes and computer hacking, I just wonder with astonishment that nobody considers that maybe in other close states where Kerry won, he won them through problems with the voting system or fraud.
We the people are not perfect and as long as we elect our leaders, there will be problems. To think that focusing on one place as we did with Florida in 2000 and now Ohio is a justifiable method to overturn nationwide election results is unfortunately more indication that too many people cannot accept the reality that the whole nation once again elected George W. Bush. As was so commonly said during the Clinton days, "Get over it and move on!"

I told a liberal that since Bush was "Selected" and not "Elected" the first time, by definition it should be alright for him to run again!
And mentioned three terms would be great!
Good letter ... Didn't check it out; how many votes did GWB lose NJ by?
Great idea! A question along these lines, would Bill Clinton be able to run as VP for Hillary and then become President if she ran into misfortune?
re:how many votes did GWB lose NJ by?
About 212,000
There's debate about this. My view is that the answer is Yes.
The 12th Amendment provides that "no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States". On the face of it, that would seem to rule Clinton out as VP on the basis of the 22nd Amendment limiting Presidential terms. But a closer look shows that the 22nd reads "no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice".
Bill Clinton is Constitutionally ineligible to be elected President again. He's not Constitutionally ineligible to serve as President again, therefore he's not barred from being elected to the Vice Presidency... and succeeding to the Presidency should his running mate die, resign, or be impeached.
nice work
Your post is my nominee for sobering thought of the day.
President Willyboy - Yikes!
It's also funny how 136,000 votes in a state is seen as an incredibly close vote. That's a lot of people.
To go even farther if you parse the text like the Clintons do the case could be made that if he ascended to the Presidency he could run again. This requires a divorce of the first clause from the second.
Ah, but to a democrat, the beauty of it all is that it doesn't concern living, breathing people, only properly marked ballots stuffed into the counting somewhere.
There! Taking that view, it doesn't seem quite so insurmountable as 136,000 grown-ups anymore, does it?

Congratulations on getting the letter printed! I'm sure Boulder hasn't changed much (except to get worse) since my days there as a college student in the late sixties. I'll bet Louisville has changed a lot, though! Do you still have that really good Italian restaurant? I lived in Broomfield for several years.
Guess it depends what the definition of "is" is!
You probably mean the Via Toscana restaurant? Still there and still great food! Though I am conservative, I still love Boulder and this area. Louisville is saturated. I live by Harper Lake off McCaslin. I do a lot of photography of the area, you may find some sights that are familiar here: http://www.arrowphotos.com/Main%20Pages/N_Boulder.htm
In which case, Clinton should NEVER have even been in office and certainly should have been stripped of any power!
This is not a debating society. You are not authorized to come here and speak for the Dems or DU, and it isn't wanted. Go sell your snake oil elsewhere.

It is much more relavent for the GOP to say 11,500 votes more in Wisconsin and GW would have had an insurmountable EV lead and the results in OHIO wouldn't matter. However the GOP are adults and very seldom "WHINE". The Dims, the little children of our land, bask in VICTIMHOOD and do nothing but whine.
Take your idiotic view that there is only 136+ k and shove it.
Second, "There is a lot of evidence that this is true"
Is an outright lie.
However, I do not expect Dummies to pay attention to evidence that contradicts their assumptions
Third, take your filthy troll ass out of here.
Go back to DUmmieland.
I don't expect you to understand that either, but here is a FLASH just for you:
Hey, Kerry LOST! George W. Bush WON.
How do you like them apples?
(I just love saying that) :)
