He had informed the Clintons he would stay through the lunch, but by the time Peres arose with wine glass in hand the president was gone.

I think GWB has better things to do with his time than to pander to these morons. They were lucky he and his Dad showed up at this ridiculous affair and said such nice things about the Schlickmiester. They were the only class act of the whole show.
