--- 5th Channel reports:
"On Wednesday in the airport "Borispol" two planes landed with Russian Special Forces "Vityaz" onboard.
Col. Lyashenko (SBU, Ukraine) was responsible for service and landing of this planes inside Ukraine.
He refused to carry out order to let Russian Special Forces land in the capital of Ukraine - Kiev. He resigned from his SBU (exKGB) position today.
He was removed from duty and planes were landed anyway.
Ukrainian Central Command reported that incident to the head of SBU Igor Smeshko, for investigation, and also requested protection for Col. Lyashenko "because his life is in danger".
Deputy of military intelligence of SBU confirmed by the phone that Col. Lyashenko is working for SBU and that he resigned today. But Deputy refused to name a reason for resignation and also declined that two Russian planes landing in Borispol Airport."

Coming out for a Soros backed socialist like Yushchenko who doesn't support the Bush White House and would have no problem with stabbing Bush in the back if he needed help is stupid.
Putin is going to show how one puts a stop to Soros, remeber that Jon Queri came way to close to winning directly because of this dead man walking.
The pro-Yushchenko web site Ukrayinska pravda, however, openly mourned Kerry 's defeat, predicting that Bush's re-election would only make matters worse for Ukraine. "The Bush administration will continue making efforts to keep the mock anti-terror coalition, which Ukraine has joined, together. And it will turn a blind eye to human rights abuses and encroachments on freedom of speech in Ukraine," the website speculated.
This gloomy prediction is in line with the jealous mistrust of Bush's administration that is widespread among Ukraine's liberal and nationalist opposition. Many of those Ukrainians who oppose Kuchma's government believe that Bush tacitly agreed to overlook corruption and undemocratic practices in Kyiv in exchange for Kuchma' s support for the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq. "Ukraine's presence in Iraq will push it further away from Europe bringing it closer to America.
America's focus on Iraq will push Ukraine onto the sidelines of U.S. foreign policy," Ukrayinska pravda continued. "During Bush's first term, foreign aid to Ukraine shrunk by almost $100 million, and it will shrink further. This will mean fewer exchanges between students, teachers, military personnel, and parliamentarians," the opposition website warned.
This is what Soros wanted to accomplish in the U.S., topple a government he doesn't agree with and force a war in the streets if it doesn't go his way.
He needs to be stopped.
Yushchenko is a socialist, putting him in power over a corrupt oligarchy does nothing for our national interests.
Yushchenko wouldn't piss on Bush if he were on fire, screw him.

Kyiv, Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko's presidential campaign has received reports that two Russian aircraft landed at the Kyiv International Boryspil airport today carrying military personnel of the Vityaz special forces unit. Approximately 1,000 in number, they were transported to Kyiv, but their whereabouts currently are unknown.

Nothing in that link about two planes.
Read my post 23.
Thanks for pointing this out. I agree with you. The current Ukrainian government sent troops to Iraq and is part of our coalition. I frankly doubt that the EU-leaning Yushchenko would support us.
I think the Euroweenies smell blood in the water -- they are trying to set the US and Russia against each other, and are circling to pick up the pieces.
And many FReepers are swallowing the propaganda hook, line and sinker.
Probably a typo. Or else it's Kerry's budget math. One hundred, not one thousand. We accomplished a lot with a hundred in Afghanistan.
Interesting. In any case, I don't see how the U.S. can intervene. The Ukrainians are going to have to work this out, one way or another.
Some around here sound, as if they think we should nuke Russia immediately over this, and of course Russia would nuke us 1 microsecond later, and Chirac and the Islamic terrorists would be rolling on the floor laughing.
>Thanks for pointing this out. I agree with you. The >current Ukrainian government sent troops to Iraq and is >part of our coalition. I frankly doubt that the EU-leaning >Yushchenko would support us.
Ukrainian goverment killed 24 reports just this year, so 50,000,000 freedom is nothing for you? It's like saying "Oh, well Hitler is part of our coalition"..
>Some around here sound, as if they think we should nuke >Russia immediately over this, and of course Russia would >nuke us 1 microsecond later, and Chirac and the Islamic >terrorists would be rolling on the floor laughing.
You don't have to Nuke Russia, Putin has all his money in US, just refuse him a visa, freeze his money.. Show some balls!
LOL. It's hopeless for some of these people, man.
It's like their entire geopolitical worldview revolves around how to: a) Screw France, b) Screw Soros, and c) Screw anyone who isn't in Iraq with us.
There is SO much more at stake here.
See this levelheaded developments and article:
Ukraine has chance to fulfil its democratic pledge (latest developments)

Wow. Everytime I see you post I am more impressed.
>Yushchenko is a socialist, putting him in power over a >corrupt oligarchy does nothing for our national interests.
If Yushechenko is a socialist Putin then a communist!
Yushenko for OPEN MARKET and FREE TRADE - PUTIN is for GOVERMENT CONTROLLED EVERYTHING!
OYushchenko is a socialist, putting him in power over a corrupt oligarchy does nothing for our national interests.
PUTIN Just put his #1 rich guy in prison like there is NO LAWS in RUSSIA!!
Ukraine now is in situation as Chehoslovakiya was during USSR the only hope that US and EU and west in general will help get UKRAINE out of RUSSIA's death grip .. else USSR 2..
When Putin will get enough money he will show you conflicts that IRAQ will be like NOTHING. Have you forgot that RUSSIA was selling WEAPONS to saddam 3 days till the start of the WAR!
They even evacuated his nuclear and chemical weapons..
No one is proposing that we "nuke Russia," though I'm glad you brought up the fact that Russia is still a major nuclear power. In this way, they are very unlike a bunch of illiterate 7th century camel herders whose only military option involves blowing themselves up.
In the grand geopolitical scheme of things, we've got far bigger fish to fry than the cave-dwelling, rabid jihadis.
Highly recommend you read Rome2000's excellent post, summing it up.
