Part of the problem is that liberalism is now more of a club than a political philosophy. Libs view themselves as the "cool kids." Therefore, if you are a conservative, you can be attacked, mocked, humiliated or shunned without any guilt.
It is much like the Muslim idea of dhimmitude applied to high school cliques.

This exactly describes the liberal women I know, thank you for the succinct definition. These women never grew beyond the groupie stage and still long for the inclusion in a clique, like they had in school. They are also the ones who follow trends in language "no problem","you know", and many times in dress--like those ugly Birkenstock (probably misspelled) shoes that they wear. It follows that they would glom onto the Dim talking points, they have never bothered to learn to think for themselves, it's just too hard.
