It also sounds like we are finally fighting a war instead of being "sensitive

Maybe since Alawii gave us permission to go after the mosques, with his edict that if the rebels used them for weapons depots, they were no longer off limits - which would have been bedlam before - we can mop them up...

combined with the press maybe getting the message that we are not going to allow another debacle like the 1970's driven press-kerry-VAVW - they'd better play it a bit straighter...or we'll reduce them to non-relevency - and they go join Gore/Kerry/Clinton/Rather sipping cool-aide juleps.

I agree, and am glad that we have 'permission' to go after the mosques, but I hate the way we put our hero's in harms way to avoid potentially negative press from the muslims. I realize that this is a delicate situation, but frankly I am tired of the US playing by rules that no one else bothers to follow.

If I recall correctly all the mosques we have cleaned out in Falluja have been full of weapons.

Our press (and Al Jazeera) still gets its collective panties in a bunch whenever we hit a mosque. It almost seems that they saturate the reporting of such events. I guess they're hoping that this will infuriate the masses and will cause more Americans to die. After all, they have a long way to go to get to the 50,000 they predicted would die in urban fighting before the war started.
