Thanks for sharing your Grandmother's story!! Sounds like a special lady! I think the FDR Democrat fit my Dad too. I think he would be of the same opinion as Zell Miller that it is a National Party No More! Think it's safe to say the Clinton, Gore & Kerry's party isn't my Dad's Democrat Party anymore. Probably good he didn't live to see what happened to his Party.....would have broken his heart!
She was a special lady and I miss her. Sadly, her Dems have let it all hang out and I don't think we, Repubs, have much hope of stuffing it back in.
The staggering number of abortions performed in the US would have been shocking to her and partial birth abortion would have horrified her.
I knew another elderly woman who always voted Dem and when I asked her about the abortion position of the Dem party and gave her the facts about abortion in this country, she couldn't believe it. LITERALLY, she wouldn't believe it. It was too much for her to imagine. I am sure that my grandmother would have been the same.
