One of the most popular politicians in the Netherlands said Friday the country's democracy is under threat and called for a five-year halt to non-western immigration in the wake of the killing of a Dutch filmmaker by a suspected Muslim radical.

Let the Western nations beware: the time has come for concerted and decisive action. The intentions of the enemy are quite clear. Let us not work under any illusions. We don't want another "Peace in our time." We have our own culture and national institutions. We will not tolerate the Islamic rabble rousing and bloody murder proposed for us by our enemy. These butchers must be stopped. Get countrol of the borders now, Mr. Bush! Throw the psychos out of the country, Mr. Bush! We need a long moratorium on immigration. Our country is unsettled, unstable, in a state of confusion and fear. How can you govern this way? It is not enough for us to fight overseas. The terrorist cells are here and more are on the way, getting across on the "cheap labor highway" that you call the international border. There will be another 9/11; it's a foregone conclusion. Perhaps a nuke? Don't put it past them.

"Dutch lawmaker urges halt to non-western immigrants"
- That would be a start, if they did it- which I doubt.
But what are they going to do about their birthrate which is so low that Dutch born Muslims under the age of 14 already outnumber the native Dutch children under 14, even though Muslims only make up 6% of the total population?

That would mean that the birthrate of the Muslims would have to be over 16 times that of the native Dutch.
Knighthawk -- any comments? I understand you are on the scene.

"Dutch born Muslims under the age of 14 already outnumber the native Dutch children under 14, even though Muslims only make up 6% of the total population. . . ."
I've heard things like this before. Scary. Do you mind saying where you got this statistic?

I never thought I'd see the day when a Dutch politician made Americans look like girly men in comparison. It's about time someone in the West stood up for their country.

Hear that Mr. President, Mr. Congressman, Mr. Senator? Are you going to take that?
Close our borders for the duration, no matter how long it may take. Put our troops on both N. and S. borders.
Aw, now Mr. President what did you just promise Mr. Foxy Loxy?

Have to check on that, but I know that in the bigger cities (also in Belgium) named like Mohammed (for newborn children) top the list.
Also we got 16 million people. In 2002 already 890.000 and the government thinks in January 2005 there will be over 1 million.

No matter what we do, we will never have a politician say the same common sense things.

- I believe that I first read it in a Mark Steyn column.

Wish we would do that here.

Thanks for the reply. I'm sure that there are lots of statistics out there if you know where to look. I had read facts similar to what you posted, but don't recall the details.
It is striking that there has been huge muslim immigration into Europe, with immigrants birthing lots of babies, while simultaneously there has been a sharply declining European birthrate.
The formerly Christian continent may turn "green" in a few decades barring a Christian revival. There is a lot of "close the borders" talk on this forum -- understandable, certainly, after 9/11. I share the concern about terrorists slipping in. But at least the bulk of the immigrants from Latin America are Christian, nominally Christian, or predisposed to Christianity, not Islam. Pity the Europeans.

- I believe that the birthrate per couple in Holland is 1.1 which is not enough to replace the couple let alone increase the population. The birthrate of the Muslim immigrants (most of whom are of child bearing age) is much higher. Steyn said in an article about six months ago that unless Holland does something about this trend that, by the year 2020, Holland will be the first country in Europe to become a majority Muslim state. Then, when they begin to close the Christian churches and enforce sharia law, the fun will really start.
