>Look what most Americans don't get is that the liberals in >Russia are responsible for a lot of the anti-Putin stuff.
>Yeltsin let the mobs and mafia run free and they made a >lot of money on the backs of the Russian people. Russia is >so deeply mired in corruption that even Putin chose to >tread around them carefully until Beslan happened.
>Just try reading this to understand the charges against >Putin for freedom of the press, for one example.
>Another view
>Much of the press there is as corrupt as ours. And surely >you didn't believe CNN about Kosovo?

You don't understand, mafia was in Russia from 1917 - only they were called COMMUNIST PARTY, they had nice houses cars when millions of people were dieing..

Yeltsin was probably closer to democratic ruler Russia ever got..

After an unsuccessful coup of 1991 KGB was planning a come back for long time, and they found a way - Chechen War -
they got young lieutenant Putin in as their man and now they rule Russia, but make no mistake about as W likes to say, Putin and those KGB guys hate one thing most of all - U.S. of A.

I don't think anyone rejoiced. Who do you think rejoiced?

The USSR was an evil empire, however under it, during it, the Russian people did many great things. Have you ever seen the Moscow Circus? It is hailed around the world, and rightly so. If you have seen it, as I have 3 times, you would never go to another circus again. Nothing compares.

How about Rimsky-Korsakov? Ever heard their music? Ever heard the classic, Flight of the Bumblebee? Incredible genuis.
Same with the Ossipov State Orchestra.

They can't just turn their backs on the good things which emerged during an evil empire, because much of it is part of their lives and souls.
It is the equivalent of your child being born under Clinton and you choosing not to celebrate his or her birthday.

My husband and I adopted a child from Russia whose parents were complete losers, but we never say that to her. Can you understand why we don't? They conceived her.

Nothing in the quote suggests that Putin is pro-Lenin, only that he understands those who have difficulty letting go of that time period.

You know Putin had 5% rating in 1999 and then won with 70% rating in 1 year.. Do you believe that?

Yes. Because I was over there many times and spoke at length with Russians on the streets. At every opportunity. They all loved him. I spent many days just blocks from the Kremlin stopping women on the streets and asking them questions. I was bored in a small apartment. I used to try behaviors out on them. It was all a huge sociology experiment for me. I did much the same in Rostov-On-Don the following year.

Where did you get the 5% quote? From a chechen website?

You know Stalin, Khruschev, Bregnev, Andropov were ELECTED by RUSSIANS along with Russians "ELECTING" to go with Cuban Missiles, Vietnam, Korea and Afganistan..

Well come here to Washington state and experience life with communists firsthand. There are certainly some left in Russia today, but there are probably more in this state.

I never visited the USSR, so I can't speak about it.

I rejoiced. So did every other anti-communist in the world.

I don't celebrate Bill Clinton's birthday. Does Putin celebrate Lenin's?

Could the Russians at least turn their backs on the bad things that emerged from the USSR? Could they bury Lenin? They could, but they don't want to. That would be admitting that he was wrong.

None of this applies to or has anything to do with Putin.
There are enough sickos in Russia, just as there are here, to keep us all amused.

Putin opened a memorial for General of KGB Andropov and said publicly his is PROUD to be working for him..

Andropov killed 50,000 Americans in Vietnam, created bunch of Arab Terrorists, killed millions of people in russia, millions!!!!!!!!!!

Putin worked as KGB in Germany by recruiting and torturing people of Germany.

Putin run St. Petersburg Mafia, which finnaly got in to Kremlin - everybody in Russia knows that, but when you go to polls you better be voting for Putin or you can kiss your JOB/UNIVERSITY/BUSINESS bye-bye..

Yes that is what a good Orthodox Christian does - says nice things about others and always considers himself to be "first among sinners". Your self-righteousness is not in line with the teachings that we are taught to follow.

And the people I spoke to in Russia did not fear Putin.

Wishful Chicom thinking is the most likely explanation for this article. For if the US takes a robust stance against the KGB Mafiya, then we may also be expected to stop kowtowing to Beijing. Now here's something bizarre. There is now, effectively, a de facto "alliance" between the Putin cheerleader squad here in the US, the pro Putin forces in Russia and other nearby countries, and, the PRC. In the PRC, they love Putin. That raaises a big old red flag for me.
