I am quite content to concentrate my energies on a secular party whose leaders and candidates are informed by religious principles and in whom there is some understanding of freemarket principles. A candidate whose religion informs his choices will not betray his constituents and will be principled in his decisions. The man who says that he leaves his religion in the church and does not let it guide his politics will betray those who voted for him and will not make principled decisions. He is unpredictible. For purposes of this discussion Socialism is a religion and like Islam is one I would NOT like to see as providing the principles by which someone in my party informs his actions.
