It is our business.

Should we interfere, or is it in the Russian sphere?

It is in the Russian Sphere of influence.
Having said that, we are not really concerned, I think, about the Ukrainian election out of some perverse desire for US to imperialize them... but instead we are concerned about Russia manipulating them, at cross purpose to OUR best interests in places like Iraq and Afghanistan, where we counted Ukraine amongst our coalition of the willing.

In an age where nations are not sovereign, pre-emption a policy of survival... we SHOULD show an interest.

But Russia manipulating an election, is not unlike US being manipulated by the Chinese during the Clinton years.

I am not all that sure that I BELIEVE that the Russians are actually behind this, or even the old-line commies. Why the exiting SOC Powell would shoot his mouth off about this stuff as he grabs his hat and runs out the door in January... is at least, INTERESTING.

I am looking for more subtext here. I have NO idea what other interests might be at play... except the oil for money scandal that benefitted a great deal of our national enemies, has been dried up, and those who are not our allies, are seeking to consolidate power.

That might be Putin. I don't really know.

Alaska is close enough to be in the Russian sphere. BTW, what is a sphere?
