Maidan receives more and more confirmation about presence of Russian troops in Ukraine.
Yesterday at night between 1:00 and 4:00 four airplanes with Russian military troops (approx. 400-450 persons) landed in Ivano-Frankivsk. They were dressed into uniform of Ukrainian troops and were sent to Kyyiv by buses. At the moment of planes arrival, the airport was surrounded by military forces.

So you'd prefer that Ukraine become George Soros' latest loot-and-leave effort, eh?
But George Soros most assuredly does.
Soros' involvement makes me extremely suspicious of the opposition. What will he demand in return for supporting this guy? And how much will the US have to pay to bail out Ukraine after all is said and done?
Soros, huh?
That helps put things in perspective.
Thanks.
It is just your opinion, but if it would be true, then YES I prefer Soros.
I hope the Ukranian citizens are armed, or they are going back into the Soviet Republic. This is what the Russkies did to Poland in 1946.
Give everyone a break this is fairly complex to tackle, there is a lot to this whole topic.
Ukrainian Debka? The opposition's ready made alarmist news?
My Debka thought exactly.
Russia is invading Galicia.
Ukraine is a deeply divided country. The western parts are mostly eastern rite Catholic with many ties to Poland and the West. The eastern part is more Orthodox and Russian and is oriented towards Russia.
Yushchenko was the candidate of the western part of Ukraine, while Yanukovych has his support in the east.
Here's a map from parliamentary (the Ukranian parliament is called the Rada) election voting trends in 1996 indicating general opposition to leftist policies. Note the concentration of the opposition to the western parts of Ukraine.
Communisim's - command economy and atheism - return? In that sense I thik you are way incorrect.
Soros is not always on the wrong side of the argument, especially when it comes to eastern Europe.
The election was a fraud, the white house has admitted as much, and asked Ukraine not to certify the results. The "bad guys" would appear to be those who would shove these results down the peoples throats.
Two words...."spell check"
Exactly. So how would U.S. intervention be any different from Russian intervention?
Maybe this is something that the "free nation" needs to work out. If Putin sent 450 Russian troops, then the opposition in the Ukraine needs to match that one-for-one with Ukrainian troops. Just how far do you think Putin is willing to go to force the issue? How far will the Russian people let Putin go to force the issue? Putin's support at this point is symbolic at best. How much impact will this symbolic effort have on the Ukrainian people?
I don't think the U.S. has the resources nor the public will to support and defend a free nation, if that nation won't lift a finger to help itself.
As far as I'm concerned, the ball is in the Ukrainians court.
Then he can live there.
Maybe I'd have more interest in your perspective
if you didn't roll three sentences into one.
Sub-literacy never inspires confidence.
Yes, command economy and atheism.
Why wouldn't they return? The concepts seem to be powerful enough in the West.
