I must give proper credit, in a begrudging way, to Putin. By moving from his old Soviet KGB roots to embracing Tsarist trappings, *apparent* Russian Eastern Orthodox Christian faith and *appearing* to side with the US in the War on Terror, he has managed to build an amazingly large amount of support amongst US conservatives. So now we have this dilemma. Here is a situation which, if it happened back when Reagan was president and Gorby running the old USSR, conservatives would have rushed to support Yushchenko. But alas, today, we have nothing but fragmentation amongst US conservatives. Brilliant moves on Putin's part led to all of this. I sure hope we don't see a worst case scenario. I think many Americans don't quite realize that that might look like.

Soros controls American conservatives. All he needs to do is to support something and most of my conservative brethren will automatically oppose it. Is his maternal live Pavlov perhaps? ;)

Some things are acrimonious by nature. For the DUmmies it's GWB. For some of us it's Soros.
My personal kneejerk bait is Jimmuh Cawtah, Mr. "Final Solution" himself. I won't be objective about anything that he says.
____
You're on to something; Soros WANTS the conservative kneejerk, so he deliberately supports the candidate that we'd otherwise support. What a smart fella. He's got us all figured out. Sowing discord IS one of his trademarks. I bet Poohbah is sorry for salivating now. :)

If the State Department buys it, that's another strike against its validity in my book. The White House, President George W Bush:The United States is deeply disturbed by extensive and credible indications of fraud committed in the Ukrainian presidential election. We strongly support efforts to review the conduct of the election and urge Ukrainian authorities not to certify results until investigations of organized fraud are resolved. We call on the Government of Ukraine to respect the will of the Ukrainian people, and we urge all Ukrainians to resolve the situation through peaceful means. The Government bears a special responsibility not to use or incite violence, and to allow free media to report accurately on the situation without intimidation or coercion. The United States stands with the Ukrainian people in this difficult time.

Putin was there for us when we went into Afghanistan. A lot of people forget that. We have no business getting involved in this argument.
To: RichardW
Sure we do. we are the point of freedom in the world. We can not run from any fight where freedom is in jeopardy.
It's our responsibility to speak up when liberty is in peril.
troops are another story.
We were silent when Tienanmen square happened. Lets hope our current administration is more responsible.

What could we have possibly done with China anyway? Sometimes we just have to let events play out. We can't be all things to all people. We just can't.
To: RichardW
well i would have started by not granting them most favored nation status.
I would start by not giving them GPS tech to help guide their missiles.
I'd have started by not allowing them to gut the American industries to prop up their worthless commie country.
how about there?

Putin is a dirty bitch and "the west" act just like in 30's. We had better not repeat history like that.

Absolutely. More important than the 1200 troops in Iraq is freedom in Eastern Europe. Priorities.
