They had 15 people out there. The odds were good that they might even shoot each other!
A little off subject, but 2-3 years ago somewhere here in Wisconsin, a lady was shot dead during deer gun season...out walking her dog down a country road. IIRC, the shooter was elderly & mistook the movement for a deer. Bottom line is that it just isn't safe to leave your house til the shootin' is over. I live on the outer edge of a small city (but within the village limits)--approx. 60,000 population and it sounds like a war-zone out there.

A separate item ~ expectations of being shot in your own backyard ~ you should have high expectations of that happening if your backyard is in an area where people hunt, and it's hunting season, and you yourself are there to hunt. This happens ALL the time.

Ok, can't continue this. Your now taking this argument from a deliberate act of homicide to an accident. Most accidents are not caused by people going on a homicidal rampage. And no, hunting accidents don't happen ALL the time. When they do happen it is usally caused by an unsafe act such as wearing camouflage, not making sure of the target, or just plain unsafe use of a weapon (i.e. walking around with a loaded weapon not on safe). If you have ever used or been around weapons, you would know all of these things. It sounds like you have, so I really don't understand how you could be making statements that seem to defend this guy.
