Watch this closely? Or start up a "Boot Dan and Mapes" effort in advance?

60 min. - and that is where Rather will still be involved - mighty strange - like really, really strange -
We take baby steps - when giant ones are needed - not only on this major media issue - but on others as well -
How many will it take to move a big mountain - as that is what is facing the nation today - ABC, NBC - New York Times - etc. - corrupt officials, Reps. etc. -
So if this investigation goes no place - and since Rather moved first - (which is said to have been planned all along) - can we expect to hear from any one else - Be interesting to see -
To: StJacques
Well, it had to happen before the report came out or after, it couldn't happen any other way. But it happened, as these things do today in America, with all the pretense that it's unrelated to the report. No one will admit to anything, just wait for the tributes and accolades thrown Danny Boy's way in the coming days, report or no report. Lies, lies, damn lies!

Bernie Goldberg said, as a guest on Hannity & Colmes tonight, that the report would not be out this week or next week-which "reliable source" are we to believe?

Rather's resignation comes in advance of the investigative report on the Bush National Guard story 60 Minutes II ran this past September
I just love it when these guys see their "legacy" go down the crapper. Buh-Bye, Dan.

It's a safe bet to say that Bernie isn't a "reliable source"....if anybody is on the 'outs' in the network news bidniss, it's him.

I'd bet on Bernie. It makes sense for CBS to distance the retirement of Rather with the findings of the investigation.

NEWS FLASH HERE!!!!!
No surprise coming.... The liberales will die on their swords for Rather/Blather. No one will be named to serve as their sacrifical lamb. Instead, everything will become a tumultious "mix-up" whereby no one will conceive of "how it happened".

Rather is still going to report for
CBS and 60 minutes after he retires in March '05
He'll still attack the Bush White House and the Military.
He was alreay going to retire.
Now he'll be in the background pulling the strings.
Like Sandy Berger he'll go unpunished.

Yes, I read somewhere else that it was overdue. Doesn't sound very good, seems to me.
