We've been all over this!! Where's the "meat"?
Give us some "targets"!! Try the "search" re: Target, it's not owned by the French, they are not alone in negating the Salvation Army..Lowe's, Home Depot etc... heard 'em all. I don't have a problem with the shareholders.. just don't wish to spend my personal "capital" at Target.
You go babe!
I am disabled and really do not get out much anymore to shop. That being said, my daughter who does most of our household shopping says she will not shop there AT ALL because of this.
Shop at Walmart instead. They allow the Salvation Army!
I have donated to the Salvation Army directly, in the past. I never did care for the bell ringers outside any stores. So many of their Santas looked so seedy, I always wondered if our donations even got to the Salvation Army.
I wouldn't consider this an anti Christian move on their part...sorry.
Helping the needy out does not require bell ringers, just a little initiative on our part to make a conscience effort to help our fellow man.
I'll do my shopping where I see the ringer, and not where I don't. Caving to the ACLU, if that is what this is about, disgusts me. Helping the SA is as Christmas-in-America as you can get.
I was very concerned tonight as I saw a Christian bell ringer outside my local Farmer Jack. I searched my pockets for a five dollar bill I thought I had, but then had to apologize to the poor frozen guy that I didn't know what happened to the money. He said that happens a lot now that most people use debit or credit cards to buy groceries.
They may have to add a phone line and a card swiper to keep up the good work!
Three of us signed it with comment.
We should let those who allow the SA know that we thank them and shop with them.
I say we pull a FReep and start calling our local Targets Home Depots and other crap warehouse stores.
Thanks. I'll double my time shopping at Target.
If they allow the SA, how can they forbid any other solicitors.
Personally I find the bell ringers obnoxious and find stores that don't have them.
BTT
This should be reposted eveery day during the holidays.
Technically, didn't they ban EVERYONE from soliciting.
Maybe we could start a thread that says "TARGET BANS ACLU FROM SOLICITING AT STORES".
Target decided to not allow ANY solicitors outside their stores. Its a resonable decision, they would rather stick to selling retail, then constantly be in court being sued by every wacko group out there, if they let 1 group they have allow every group.
Just as I block spam whether or not it might be something good, and just as I don't answer phone calls that are unidentified.
So enjoy your boycotts :-)
Bell ringers are a Christmas tradition.
No bell ringers=political correctness.
Political correctness stinks.
Target stinks.
