I didn't yet read the whole article, and I'd be interested in seeing what age group they are targeting.
I know kids need sex education (and of course there's an argument on what should be taught under that banner), but how young is too young to hit kids with all this? Do we let them even be kids anymore?
I'm sure many will say it's not education, but "social engineering" or "indoctrination" . . .

GLSEN indoctrination on the recruiting prowl again.

On one level, the note that family "comes in many forms" is quite true. Some people don't have a mom and a dad. Some have only one parent, or through some reason live with an Aunt and Uncle or Grandparents.
If that was the nature of the statement, it would be fine. But this is obviously not the case. Rather, it is an attempt to indoctrinate children with the idea that gay couples are a naturally occurring pairing for parents. But there is a major hole in that argument.
Personally, I do not have a problem with LEGAL rights for gay couples. In fact, I would accept equal rights for gay couples with the exception of two items. One, don't hijack the term "marriage." You can't adjust the meaning of a word because you want it to change. If gays want to create their own institution that is equal to marriage, fine. But don't try to tell us how to change ours. Secondly, I don't think gay couples should be allowed to adopt children.
My reason? Anyone with a modicum of logic and observation can see that the intention of God (or nature, if you prefer a PC term) is for children to be raised by one man and one woman. And the reason is incredibly simple. It takes one man and one woman to CREATE a child! There is no possible way to create a child with two men or two women. It won't work! Just like I cannot make a loaf of bread without using flour! One of the necessary ingredients to make a loaf of bread is flour. And the two necessary ingredients to create a child are a man and a woman.

Time to put a stop to the sickening indoctrination of children!!!
These deviant activists are a small minority of Americans who seek nothing more than special privilege and status above all others; based upon nothing more than a foundation of behavioral choice!

If you are going to have sex ed in schools in the first place, then I would say you at least have to address homosexuality. You can't ignore it.
To: conserv13
Your absolutely right... However, it should be discussed in Abnormal Psych class, not sex ed.

Homosexual Agenda + Homeschooling Ping.
Run, don't walk, to your kids' school and take them out. Homosexual indoctrination is not the only reason. Teachers promote the entire leftist agenda day in and day out. Not every single teacher, but so many of them that many kids come out after 12 years of public screwel as changelings.
If anyone thinks their school is ok, please read EdReform's links. He's got it all. The homosexual rights crowd are after OUR children. Anyone who doubts this is either willfully ignorant or part of the problem.
Inform yourself, then armed with truth, inform others. And save as many children as possible from the infection of "gay is good".
Let me and ItsOurTimeNow know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.

Secondly, I don't think gay couples should be allowed to adopt children. I agree with your approach. Some of the "legal rights" homosexuals feel entitled to include health care when one member is covered and pension benefits and social security benefits where one is covered. The partner benefits by being "named" as a spouse. This aspect of legal rights is not a valid use of the law and I would suggest it be included under the part of the post that should not be granted to the homosexual lobby no matter how many classes they hold in the school.
I believe that in line with this, schools should seek texts that do not identify same sex marriage as a normal acceptable home life from which kids may be expected in the classroom. The teacher should be instructed to say that marriage and child raising are the province of a one man and one woman household and while this is not always the case, children have the best chance of growing up within the confines of the one man and one woman established relationship.
Furthermore, when this ideal relationship is not pressent the parent should take steps to ensure that the children develop healthy relationships with heterosexual role models to supplement for that part of a missing relationship.

Then the truth should be told about "gay" sex. But of course that would never be allowed.

However, Montgomery County is one of the few school districts that want to identify homosexual couples as a type of family. Are homosexuals able to procreate in Montgomery County? If so, that is the real story here.

Then polygamists should demand the same respect to accomodate families where the husband has multiple wives.
To: JZelle
They would be suspending my kids. I'd tell them to walk out anytime the discussion starts.
There's no reason to teach them this stuff except for indoctrination.
