He said Christian fundamentalism is a result of "a lack of education. They haven't been exposed to what the world has to offer." i.e. Me superior Them stupid. (He doesn't understand religion, so he says)
We've seen too well what the world had to offer and we aren't interested,.

I wonder what the audience thought of Rooney's incoherence.
"I think if George Bush said tomorrow, 'I was wrong, I ask for an apology,'
Uh, why would President Bush admit he's wrong and then ask for an apology? Ha! I know what it is, the part of Rooney's brain that works properly and has been suppressed all this time is trying mightily to break out.
There are good young people in the news business," he said, praising his fellow commentators Jon Stewart and Al Franken.
Andy, these youngsters are comedians not fellow commentators.
Equating Rooney with a maroon would be kind at this point.

Andy, could you please give me an example of exactly what you are talking about? To what exactly have I not been exposed?

"Rooney also attributed voters' reliance on religion in the recent election to ignorance" and "said Christian fundamentalism is a result of 'a lack of education. They haven't been exposed to what the world has to offer.'" Say it with me Andy..."Lake of fire"...Like it or not, buddy boy, your knee SHALL bow to whose name you tacitly curse.

Rooney is intellectually short sighted. He should be grateful to God that he had managed to make a hansom living out of little witty sayings.

As his political mentor said, "Religion is the opiate of the masses." The dottering old atheist fool knows that the higher the education the greater the vote for W.

men who work with their hands voted for George Bush
So, does this mean that the Republican Party is the true labor party?
To: Noachian
I don't understand that part: if he says he was wrong why would he ask for an apology and from whom?

They haven't been exposed to what the world has to offerAnd with any luck, I won't be exposed. And I'll live to see many more grandchildren, and die at home in the arms of my family, just like Dad.
As opposed to dying from what the world has to offer.
I've seen it. I don't want to be exposed to it.

When will we get the results of CBS's "internal investigation" of "Rathergate"? Who forged the documents? Whose hands did the documents pass through? Who knew about them and when? Who will be held accountable? Most of these questions aren't that difficult to answer if your Rather or Mapes. Shouldn't they be cooperating with the investigation? If so, shouldn't it be about done? Can CBS give us an update? Let's email CBS and see if we can get them moving: 60m@cbsnews.com
