Actually the area where this happened, Exeland area has only about 460-500 people and the Birchwood area is around 900. So it is a very small community. The area Rice Lake where the men were from is around 9000.

WE are all prayer for the families.

Actually Ladysmith2, I was referring to the county. Where it has more than 16,000 people. Not a very big county. Yes, there are probably many towns in that county that consist of 600 or so people in them. Still, it's small, whether you want to say 9,000 or 900. Sawyer County Shootings. will give that info. But if you really want to get technical, the figure that you quoted is a lot lower than what you said. Exeland Township boasts a population of 200 - maybe 300. About 1/2 of what you said. But that's neither here nor there. There are people that are hurting. Prayers go out to the families and survivors. Regardless, it's small enough...period.
