what's the scoop on this Vang guy?

I heard on KFI radio in Los Angeles that Vang is Hmoung.

The Hmoung were tribes people from Vietnam who allied themselves with the Americans during the war. They have had a hard time adjusting to the US. Many of their men simply died in their sleep after coming here. They were a simple, rural people who found themselves thrust into a fast-paced, urban world.

Apparently the Hmoung were accustomed to hunting were ever they liked. They did not have the concept of private property and have grown increasingly frustrated by it. When the other hunters told him he would have to leave he seems to have snapped.

This, of course, does not excuse his actions but it does help to explain them.
