The MSM and the Mediots (even on fox) tried to represent it unheard of that a semi-automatic SKS was used in hunting. There were guests who quickly correcte the misinformation.
(I still found out the better and more accurate information on FR faster than any other news source.)
BTW any more info on the shooter?

7.62 is .30 cal, the SKS makes a fine hunting weapon.
I plan on using my Kalishnikov to hunt for javelina this season. (A javelina is a mean toothy piglike critter that lives in the southwest.) My friend is bringing his AR-15. We both have 5 round mags, which makes them no different than any other semi-auto hunting rifle.

Golly....I got the impression that LOTS of folks hunt with the SKS! One of my own sons is going to be using one ASAP as a matter of fact! From my experience with it, I'd have nothing against using it for hunting either!..... although I have to admit, I do favor my Rem M-700 .243. :-)
I haven't heard anymore about the shooter so far. I think once the blogosphere debunks all the fluff about this evil "assault rifle", they'll drop this like a hot potato.
